The Museum of Macedonia has four permanent exhibitions: archaeological, ethnological, historical and the Icon Gallery.
For each of the exhibitions a guiding service is being provided in some of the most common foreign languages.

 Objects of cultural, historical and artistic significance displayed in the museum exhibitions are arranged in a way to enhance their visual, thematic and conceptual aspects. They are well adjusted to educational work with children of pre-school age, primary and secondary school students and people with disabilities. Many activities of interactive education are organized in the Museum. These activities are carried out by the Education Department (guides, educators) through projects specifically designed to raise the awareness of these target groups about the exquisite movable heritage stored, maintained and exhibited in the Museum.
The activities in these projects are based on group work within museum workshops. The lectures and close observation of museum objects provide inspiration for clay modelling, painting in various techniques, weaving, embroidery, egg colouring, costume design, essay writing, poster making, theatre plays, etc.
New ideas are being born in everyday activities and the educational programme is being enhanced with new projects.
